Campaign Set-Up

Initial email records:

On Thursday August 8th, 2013 the below e-mail was sent out to update you on the progress that had been made.

"As promised, I am sending the updates on the campaign and how everything is progressing.

At this time, we have gone through some of our list and selected fifty stations we plan to submit the music to. We will continue to build this list as appropriate, and are going to modify our connections as necessary to fit the style of music.

We also have almost completed the music submit profile to help gather play and potential chart action, so once that is completed, I can launch it early to do more follow-up.

If there are any stations in particular you wish for us to reach out to, let us know and we can add them to our list. Right now we will be working with what we believe is best from our list.

Also, I've reached out to collect the station information from Radio Submit, and received a response. Once the campaign officially begins on the September 2nd, I will e-mail them asking for playlists, play times, and request a fresh round of plays.

Mark, Autumn or I will be giving you a call tomorrow before 5pm, Chicago time to answer any and all questions you may have.

I hope this update helps you both and will keep you informed as to our progress with weekly e-mails.

Once we are out of the set-up stage, you will have reports available Monday's at 6am at www.billmortonpromotions.blogspot.com

On August 18th, 2013 we sent an e-mail with the updates for the campaign set-up:

Hello All, I have gone through our initial list of contacts and selected the first twenty-six stations that will be sent either MP3s of CDs. Normally it would be twenty-five submissions a week starting next week until we reach 300, however Mark informed me of a special request for Rosalie of KFOG FM so I am adding her to our first round and will be down to twenty-four for our second round.

I have sent two e-mails to gauge interest right away, one to Rosalie, and one to my contact at Jazz Page in Japan. My contact is Jazz Page often recommends other stations in Japan to me, hence reaching out to him. He has also taken non-jazz artists and written about them/promoted them in the past.

The message are as follows:

Shigeyo Hyodo, Thank you so much. It looks great. I also have a new client, although they is a little out of the genre, but may be of interest.

Glass House- Long Way Down

If you are interested, let me know and I'll send a CD over.

Online Publications

We received a request on August 25th, 2013 from Mark to reach out to Acoustic Guitar Magazine and The Vocalist Magazine on behalf of Glass House. Below are the two e-mails that were sent to handle this request.

Mr. Samuel Biks,

Hello, I am a Chicago-based radio promoter looking to get Glass House the promotion they desire for their CD, Long Way Down. I am reaching out to you about the vocalist, David Worm. He is very talented and reaches out to those listening in a way that is rare.

David Worm- Biography

A native of Oakland California, David began his singing career in 1985 with the Bay Area groups Jazz Mouth and Vocal Front. In 1989 he became a founding member of Bobby McFerrin's Voicestra and has remained a regular performer with McFerrin, featured on recordings, videos, and touring internationally. Most recently, David performed with McFerrin at the San Francisco debut of McFerrin’s Vocabularies with the Pacific Mozart Ensemble.

David is also a founding member of the a cappella group, SoVoSo, an internationally acclaimed vocal ensemble which has released six albums and tours worldwide. Other current performing projects include touring and teaching in the innovative improvisational trio, WeBe3, where he teams up with dear friends and vocal powerhouses Rhiannon and Joey Blake, collaborating with spoken word artist PC Munoz and his band Left Hook, and singing and performing with the Bay Area's Miribai Ensemble. David has over fifty recording credits as a session singer, vocal percussionist, and writer, and his original music has been recorded by groups both nationally and internationally.

David has worked extensively with the Bay Area dance community, having scored or co-written numerous full-length works for Robert Moses' Kin (one of these projects being a recipient of the Isadora Duncan Award), Oberlin Dance, Tandy Beal, Project Bandaloop (an Isadora Duncan Award nominee), Cherie Carson, June Watanabe, and Suzanne Gallo. David's music has also been used in scoring the film documentaries "StepUp" for Canadian director Tamas Wormser, and "Love Francesca" for producer Julie LaSalle.

David has taught improvisational singing and vocal percussion at the Omega Institute in New York, The Esalen Institute in Big Sur California, and regularly teaches vocal improvisation and vocal percussion in schools and other places of learning throughout the U.S. and Europe.

Glass House website: http://glasshousemusic.org/

I've also attached a few MP3's of their music.

Please consider an article on him, for David truly does have a lot of talent.

You can reach me at any of the below contact sources.

Thank you,

On August 25th, 2013 we contacted Margie with information regarding our Acoustic Guitar Magazine and The Vocalist Magazine outreach.

Margie, As per the earlier e-mail, here is the mailing address for the two specific magazines Mark would like to be in.

If you could send the CD along with the EPK to this, it would be much appreciated.

Acoustic Guitar Magazine
501 Canal Blvd, Suite J
Richmond, CA 94804-3505
I've called and left a voice mail saying I would like to know who to put as the ATTN to actually make some progress, so hopefully they'll get back to me quickly.
Also, I'll be sending an e-mail to The Vocalist magazine's publisher, Samuel Biks. Hopefully he'll take the information and MP3's I send and decide to do something on David.
I will have an e-mail on local promoters who do this kind of thing on a regular basis out this evening or tomorrow, so please keep a look out so you can pursue that avenue.
Thanks,

Autumn

Hello,
I am reaching out to you as a promotions company who represents Glass House for their album Long Way Down.

They are interested in received reviews in their local magazines and media outlets, which is why I'm reaching out to you.

Their Website: glasshousemusic.org

Glass House Biography:
With over twenty-three years of working together, David Worm and Mark Vickness have shared much more than a passion for great songwriting. From personal tragedy to the joy of raising children, through all the changes of the last two decades, these musicians have made writing songs together a constant thread, a platform on which to build not just a body of work but a lifelong friendship and a musical chemistry that infuses every song.

Over the years, David and Mark have worked with many phenomenal musicians. That trend continues on their third CD, Long Way Down. Producer/bassist Jon Evans is well-known for his years recording and touring with Tori Amos and Third Eye Blind. Two time Grammy winners, The Turtle Island String Quartet contribute their remarkable talents on two songs. Also appearing are drummers Scott Amendola (Charlie Hunter), L.A. studio ace, MB Gordy (Frank Zappa, Green Day, Bill Withers), tabla virtuoso Ty Burhoe, violinist Mads Tolling (Stanley Clarke) and vocalists Ashling Cole (Prince) and Julianna Graffagna (Kitka).

Pooling influences ranging from Sting to Peter Gabriel and Dave Matthews to Jason Mraz, Long Way Down is a tour de force of Mark’s intricate, layered guitars and David’s soaring, blues inflected vocals. This CD reflects the full range of Glass House Music, from the sparsely haunting solo acoustic guitar and voice rendition of Robbie Robertson’s Broken Arrow, the funk string quartet intro to Turn Away to the driving, world music infused choral tapestry of Build A Bridge. Lyrics run the gamut from tender personal pathos (For Now, Thank You) to timely political and social narratives (Turn Away, Where I Belong). Widely-acclaimed YouTube videos by Glass House Music have been viewed by hundreds of thousands of fans. When the live version video of Broken Arrow was first released, it was the seventh most-viewed youtube video according to Billboard.com, beating out Christina Aguilera’s “You Lost Me” and Pearl Jam’s “Unthought Known."
The duo is very talented and has a style that is all their own. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions you may have. I've attached two of their MP3's for your review.
